THE COLLECTION: Where Art Meets Fashion

At the onset of the shopping center’s opening in 2013, Fashion Outlets of Chicago unveiled a collection of curated, site-specific artwork located throughout the shopping center. In 2016, this artwork acted as the foundation for what is now known as THE COLLECTION: Where Art Meets Fashion, a multifaceted art program providing visitors with the opportunity to access and enjoy contemporary works of art by both emerging and established artists. 

Components of THE COLLECTION include:

Permanent Commissions

Site-specific commissions by nationally and internationally renowned artists added to Fashion Outlets of Chicago’s existing contemporary art collection on an annual basis. 

Rotating Exhibitions 

THE COLLECTION features rotating exhibitions of work by a variety of artists three times each year. Display cases showcasing the work of THE COLLECTION’s rotating exhibition artists can be found throughout the shopping center. THE COLLECTION will host interactive works of art encouraging patron participation and student collaborations with Chicago’s acclaimed art education institutions. Fashion Outlets of Chicago will host a series of art-focused events and programming for its visitors to enjoy on a year-round basis.
